FAQs

How much does the 2025-2026 club season cost?

WVE Club dues for the 25-26 season will be $1800, this is a slight increase from last years fees which were $1600. This adjustment allows us to keep up with rising costs, and covers the cost of tournaments, equipment, players gear, coaches, and facilities for all players. Club fees do not include player or family travel expenses or the cost of CEVA memberships.

When is the club season?

Club Volleyball typically runs from mid-November through the first weekend in May.

When are tryouts?

12s and 14s are on 11/09/2025 at 10:00am.

16s and 18s are on 11/16/2025 at 10:00am

How do I know what age group my player qualifies for?

Check cevaregion.org for requirements on age groups but generally players can play up to the age group listed as long as they don’t go beyond the age listed during the season. For example, if your player is 11, they can play on a 12s or even a 14s team technically, but if they are 12 and turn 13 during the season they would only be able to play on a 14s team to stay under that age during the season.

Where are practices held?

All our teams currently practice in local schools & gyms in Newberg, OR. We usually practice on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and we try our best to have 12s and 14s practice from 5-7pm and 16s and 18s from 7-9pm. Gym space in Newberg is limited so we appreciate players and families flexibility. Since we also typically practice at local schools our schedule does also follow the Newberg School District calendar so when there is no school we will usually not have practice, this is subject to availability.

How much of a time commitment can I expect?

Our teams regularly practice twice per week, and have 1-2 tournaments per month. This season, we are expecting to register each team for 8-10 tournaments.

If you are new to club, tournaments in the CEVA Region are held along the I-5 corridor and are from 8am-5pm typically, with players needing to arrive by 7:30am. The majority of tournaments are 1 day events, with a couple that can be 2 or even 3 days on a long weekend.

There are two types of tournaments, Power League and Friendships. Power Leagues are tournaments that are a part of the official schedule that all teams in the region participate in and count towards qualification for Regionals (A 2 day tournament at the end of the season) Friendship tournaments are hosted by other Clubs and are additional opportunities for competition but do not count towards league standings.

Final schedules won’t be announced until AFTER tryouts when the club is able to register for tournaments.

*We do plan to attend the Rouge Valley Classic in Medford 3/28-29, which is at the end of Spring Break and a two day tournament, so please mark your calendars. This is a friendship tournament hosted by the Region and was a huge hit last season.

Does WVE play/practice on Sundays?

Yes, we do! Weekends are when tournaments are typically held. We do our best to register each team for tournaments on both Saturdays and Sundays, to give players and families a variety of dates on/off.

What if I play another sport during club season?

We love to have multi-sport athletes in our program, as long as there is good communication about schedules we encourage our players to pursue all their interests. We think this is a positive thing for athletes and our program.
